Anna Enikő Pintér – 1st Prize with Special Mention
My name is Anna Pintér. I am 22 years old and currently studying in the Hungarian Academy of Music where I am in my 2nd year of my bachelor studies.
I was born on December 3rd, 2001, in Nyíregyháza, Hungary. I come from a non-musician family, but as far as I know, my family have always loved classical music. For my primary education I applied to a Music Primary school in my hometown. I started studying music from a very young age, mostly singing and the basics of classical music. This school I attended is home of the Cantemus Children’s choir. I was also a member of this choir, where I learned so much of working together as a group and working together to make beautiful music. I started playing the flute when I was 9 years old. From the first years I went to a lot of competitions, mostly inside of the country, where I got many prizes throughout the years. With playing the flute I had the best experiences of my life. I also accompanied the choir on the tours and choir competitions. I had the amazing opportunity to perform in Japan on a 2 months long concert tour and in Seoul, South Korea.
When I was 14 years old and finished my studies in primary school, I applied to a high school in my hometown, and a music school in Budapest, the Bartók Conservatory. I got accepted to the conservatory in the first place, but at that time I was not sure if the path that the conservatory offers is what I would love to have as my career. After my first year in High School I thought I would like to find my true calling and I decided that I would like to study in the United States. In the 2017-2018 school year I spent 11 months in the states in Plymouth, Wisconsin where I realized that music is what I really would like to do in the future. In the states I also went to competitions, where in 2018 at the WSMA Music Competition I got the Exemplary Award for my flute performance. When I came back to Hungary I reapplied to the conservatory and continued my education there.
In February 2023 I had an opportunity to be a soloist accompanied by the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra in a concert at the Hungarian Academy of Music.
In April 2023 I was awarded 3rd prize at the polish Opus International Music Competition and in the same year in ocotber I was awarded 2nd prize at the dutch The Royal Maas Competition.
In November 2023 I had the opportunity to give a solo concert in Rome, Italy with pianist Anna Granik, with the invitation from Accademia D’Ungeria Roma.
In January 2024 I was awarded 2nd place at the Danubia Competition and in February I was awarded 3rd place in a chamber music category at the Malopolska International Music Competition with my chamber music partner Luca Kovacs.
In May I gave a solo concert in Bucharest, Romania, with my chamber music partner Luca Kovács through the invitation of Liszt Institute Bucharest.
I am grateful for my wonderful teachers at the Academy and my family and friends who support me each day
