David Rafael Cardoso Nôro – Trumpeter
Born in 2004 in Alfarelos, Coimbra, David Nôro is a dedicated and accomplished trumpeter recognized for his artistic excellence, versatility, and commitment to continuous growth. He began his musical journey at the age of seven with the Filarmónica 15 de Agosto Alfarelense and completed the 8th Grade in Trumpet at the Conservatory of Music of Coimbra with the highest distinction (20/20).
In June 2025, he completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Music (Trumpet) at the University of Aveiro, achieving both technical mastery and artistic maturity. His education has been enriched by numerous masterclasses with renowned international artists such as Adam Rapa, Pacho Flores, Thomas Gansch, Guido Segers, Jean-François Madeuf, among others.
David has distinguished himself in national and international competitions, earning the 1st Prize at the Conservatory of Coimbra’s Finalist Competition (which granted him a solo performance with the Classical Orchestra of the Centre), 2nd Place at the XIX Concurso Jovem.com (Madeira, 2022), and 3rd Place at the International Wind Instruments Competition of Oliveira de Azeméis.
As an orchestral musician, he has collaborated with ensembles such as the Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras, Orquestra Clássica do Centro, Jovem Orquestra Portuguesa, and the Academic Orchestra of the University of Coimbra, where he has been an active member since 2019. He frequently assumes leading roles in orchestral and chamber settings and demonstrates remarkable versatility by performing on piccolo trumpet, cornet, and flugelhorn.

Alongside his performance career, he cultivates a deep interest in music education, viewing teaching as both a privilege and a responsibility toward the future of musical culture.
