Marta Janus – 1st Prize with Special Mention, Violin
Biography of Marta Janus
My journey with music started in 2016. When I was younger, I was always wishing of
playing on some kind of instrument. My parents listened to me and decided to sign me
up to afternoon music school in Ruda Śląska. I got in to class of violin – my dream
instrument. I got mentioned in competiton for the first time when I was in third grade, in
2019 – I got 4th place on Jasnogórski Konkurs Skrzypcowy. Later, I claimed a lot of more
important prizes: 2 place twice on Co Młodym w Duszy Gra competition – in 2021 and
2022, 2 place on Muzyczny Koryfeusz in 2022 and 3 place on Muzyczny Koryfeusz in
2023.
I was learning in afternoon school for 7 years. After that time I decided to change
school – in 2023 I went to daily music school in Bytom and mgr Irena Kalinowska-Grohs
became my teacher there. Now it is my 9 years of playing at all. I have already got some
prizes in new school as well – honorable mention on Dźwiękowe Odkrycia in 2024 and
honorable mention on Virtuoso! in 2024. I have also took part in some violin workshops.
