Rene Kotal – FIRST PRIZE with Special Mention, Marimba
René Kotal (born in 2012, Czech Republic) has been playing the piano since the age of five. He has participated in several competitions, winning numerous awards, including:
• 3rd Prize in Young Pianists Play Steinway & Sons
• 2nd Prize in Hraj online!
• In the National Music School Competition: Grand Prix in the regional round, 2nd Prize in the national round, and 3rd Prize in the national round in the piano duo category.
At the age of 10, he also began playing drums and melodic percussion instruments.
In 2025, he was awarded the Grand Prix in the regional round of the National Music School Competition and won 1st Prize with a Special Award for Exceptional Performance in the national round. Additionally, as a member of the PercuPardubice Ensemble, he received 1st Prize in the regional round.
In September 2025, he was nominated as a young talent at the Music Festival „Zlatá Pecka” and will perform on marimba in a concert.
