Fangyi Zheng – ABSOLUTE WINNER, Trumpet
Fangyi Zheng is a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate in trumpet performance at Stony Brook University. She holds master’s degrees from the University of Cincinnati College–Conservatory of Music and the Tianjin Conservatory of Music, and a bachelor’s degree from Henan University.
A winner of the Gold Award at the National Trumpet Competition during the 6th China International Trumpet Festival, Ms. Zheng has appeared as a soloist, premiered contemporary works, and performed with ensembles including the Seattle Harmonia Orchestra & Chorus and the Tianjin Symphony Orchestra. Her artistic work centers on trumpet works by women composers and cross-cultural repertoire.
