Haomiao Cao – ABSOLUTE WINNER, Cello

Haomiao Cao, a young cellist and cello teacher at Harbin Conservatory of Music, graduated from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, and the Royal College of Music (RCM) in the UK. He studied under Professors Ulrich Heinen and Alexander Chaushian. In 2018, he was admitted to the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with an outstanding second-place scholarship, and in 2022, he was accepted into the world-renowned Royal College of Music, studying with the famous cellist Alexander Chaushian. He graduated with the highest honors (Distinction) from both institutions. In 2017, he won the First Prize in the Solo Category at the 17th Vienna International Arts Competition. In 2019, he won First Prize in the Boccherini Cello Ensemble Competition, and was invited by the Spanish International Arts Festival to perform. In 2024, he won First Prize in the Ensemble Category at the Oxford Music Festival in the UK. He also has excellent experience for the orchestra. In 2020, he served as the principal cellist of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Symphony Orchestra. In 2024, he performed as the associate principal cellist with the Royal College of Music Symphony Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall, performing for King Charles III of the UK.A video of him performing Mozart’s Sonata k 545, at a piano competition, has gained millions of views, and has also received great attention in the international press. As a small pianist, also as soloist with orchestra, he participated in various cultural and charitable events, musical festivals and events including the Festival Liszt – Grottammare 2023, Civitanova Classica 2024, PianoItalia Festival 2023 at the Conservatory “G. In October 2023 he received the “Music Prize” on the occasion of the prestigious “XXI Premio Giuseppe Sciacca”, whose solemn ceremony was held at the Vatican, at the Pontifical Urbaniana University, where he performed before high ecclesiastical, military and civil authorities.
