Martina Mazzeo – 1st Prize with Special Mention
Martina Mazzeo was born on 04/04/1996 in Vibo Valentia.
She manifests a musical bent from an early age and later shows a vocation for singing and acting. She undertakes the study of singing at the age of 12, under the guidance of Maestro Sergio Sangiuliano. She later became a student of Maestro Caterina Francese, at the “Cantiere Musicale Internazionale” in Mileto (VV).
After obtaining her classical high school diploma, she was admitted to the Conservatory of Music “F. Cilea” (Reggio di Calabria) in the Singing class of Maestro Liliana Marzano, and in the academic year 2016-2017 she obtained her Level I academic diploma with honors.
In 2015 he performed with the choir of the Conservatorio “F. Cilea” in G. Rossini’s “Stabat Mater,” performed at the Church of S. Paolo Apostolo in Brancaleone (Reggio di Calabria).
In 2016 he took part in the performance of G. Rossini’s “Petite Messe Solennelle,” performed first at the Conservatory’s headquarters and then at the Cathedral of Reggio Calabria.
In the same year he performs at the Monastery of the Visitation of St. Nicholas (Ortì).
In 2018 she performed at the Umberto Giordano Theater (Foggia), conducted by Maestro Carmen Battiante, on the occasion of the closing night of the Buck festival in Foggia.
In the same year he took part as a chorus artist of the Ente Luglio Musicale Trapanese in the trip to Tunisia, participating in the realization of G. Verdi’s “Aida” at the Roman amphitheater of El Jem in Carthage.
As a chorister for the same institution, she then performed at the “Giuseppe di Stefano” theater in Trapani and later participated in the realization of G. Verdi’s “Requiem” at the Greek theater in Segesta.
She is then engaged with the F. Cilea Opera Chorus in the staging of V. Bellini’s “Norma” at the “F. Cilea” theater in Reggio di Calabria and again in the staging of G. Verdi’s “Traviata” at the V. Emanuele of Messina.
In the academic year 2018- 2019 she achieves with a score of 110 out of 110 cum laude the Level II academic diploma in Singing.
In April 2022 she is found to be eligible in the soprano string at the audition for Chorus Artists of the Teatro Sociale di Como and OperaLombardia for the 2022/2023 opera season.
In October 2022 she is admitted to the master class held by soprano Patrizia Ciofi at the Fiesole School of Music.
She participates in the New Year’s Eve concert at the Cineteatro San Carlo (Arona), conducted by M. Damiano Cerutti.
She then performs at the Teatro Civico in Vercelli and the Castello Visconteo- Sforzesco in Novara.
In February 2023 he performs at the Feurich Perfoming Stage (Vienna) and in June he performs at the Feurich Acoustic Stage (Vienna) at the “Kunst mit 6” Festival.
In August 2023 he participates in the Livorno Music Festival.
In February 2024 he performs In Genoa at the Peschiere University Residence.
He has attended masterclasses, seminars and internships held by artists and Maestros from the world of Music, Theater and beyond such as Chris Merritt, Patrizia Ciofi, Ildebrando D’Arcagelo, Roberto Scandiuzzi, Gabriella Sborgi, Federico Sacchi, Antonio Juvarra, Donata D’Annunzio Lombardi, Desirèe Rancatore, Giedre Zeicaite, Rita Novikaite, Alfonso Gucciardo, Carles Expósito, Stefano Vizioli.
