Yuzhe Chen – 1st Prize with Special Mention, Piano


Yuzhe Chen is an internationally recognized pianist, chamber musician, and educator. He is an artist member of The Global Outstanding Chinese Artists Association and recently completed a successful tour of China, performing in eight different cities. Chen has won accolades including the Special Gold Prize at the Third International Chinese Art Festival in Singapore and the Second Prize of the Concerto Group at the 2011 Hong Kong International Piano Open. He has also won the first prize at the 2022 GOCAA San Francisco International Music Competition and the third prize of the 50th Fremont Symphony Concerto Competition. Yuzhe Chen has also participated in prestigious music festivals such as the Aspen International Music Festival & School and the Bowdoin International Music Festival, where he received critical acclaim for his performances. Born in Wuhan, China, Yuzhe Chen began playing the piano at the age of six under the guidance of Qin Chen and Man Wu. In 2015, he was accepted into the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Mack McCray and Dr. Sharon Mann. In 2019, Yuzhe Chen pursued his Master of Music degree at the University of Texas at Austin under the mentorship of Dr. Andrew Brownell. Later, he was offered doctoral admissions by five esteemed universities.
